The EDGE Innovation Centers

The primary EDGE Innovation Network collaboration facilities are located in Scottsdale, Ariz. USA. On site, you’ll find over 8,000 square feet of laboratories, meeting space and an interactive immersion theatre and demonstration venue.
 
Labs may be reserved by EDGE members to integrate their technologies with warrior systems or to collect information comparing emerging technologies with current baseline capabilities. The EDGE also contains a main integration lab, where current warrior programs complete integration and test of subsystems before progressing to field evaluations or production. In addition, there are several meeting spaces and executive offices that house several warrior programs which are primed by General Dynamics C4 Systems.

At the core of the facility is an immersive theatre. This theater provides the ability to simulate relationships between higher echelon commands and the dismounted soldier, and incorporates the use of unmanned ground vehicles and unmanned air vehicles. Using the theatre, warriors and engineers can carry out mission scenarios to demonstrate interoperability, as well show the dissemination and presentation of data at various echelons from the command center to the individual Soldier at the edge.

EDGE OnLine

Complementing the EDGE’s physical environment is a virtual environment that is accessible by all EDGE members. As projects are defined and formed between members of the EDGE, areas are created in this virtual environment for project collaboration. This online tool serves as an information repository that includes project information, teammate reports, customer reports, customer feedback and recommended development items, or capability gaps that can be used as the basis for emerging EDGE projects.
